Volontairement diachronique, la revue a pour ambition de montrer l\u2019existence de cr\u00e9ations et de transformations, de permanences et de recyclages intellectuels, th\u00e9oriques et pratiques dans le champ d\u2019une discipline trop souvent cloisonn\u00e9e entre acad\u00e9miques, modernes et contemporains, et trop souvent per\u00e7ues comme repli\u00e9e sur elle-m\u00eame. Pourtant de nombreux peintres, architectes, designers, performers, furent et sont aussi des sculpteurs ; la sculpture partageant avec les autres expressions artistiques de nombreux desseins comme \u00eatre le miroir d\u2019un monde contemporain, exister dans l\u2019espace v\u00e9cu et habit\u00e9, r\u00e9v\u00e9ler une sensibilit\u00e9 peut-\u00eatre universelle.<br><em>Sculptures<\/em> n\u2019entend pas \u00e9riger de crit\u00e8res dans les acceptions de la modernit\u00e9. Elle leur place aux marges suppos\u00e9es de sa discipline. Son ambition est moins de donner une d\u00e9finition de la sculpture moderne et contemporaine que d\u2019\u00e9tudier la r\u00e9ponse de la sculpture et des artistes aux probl\u00e9matiques g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es par le temps, la contemporan\u00e9it\u00e9, la sensibilit\u00e9, la technicit\u00e9.<br>Dans sa partie th\u00e9matique, la revue croise les regards autour d\u2019enjeux historiques, \u00e9pist\u00e9mologiques, sociologiques, philosophiques, techniques, iconographiques. La partie Varia, permettant notamment d\u2019accueillir des travaux de jeunes chercheurs, est suivie de rubriques sur l\u2019actualit\u00e9 de la sculpture, de notes et documents, de comptes-rendus d\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nements ou de lectures et d\u2019un calendrier des expositions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La revue est dot\u00e9e d\u2019un comit\u00e9 scientifique form\u00e9 par des personnalit\u00e9s du monde de l\u2019art (universitaires et conservateurs de mus\u00e9es) et d\u2019une direction de la r\u00e9daction. Chaque ann\u00e9e, un membre du comit\u00e9 scientifique con\u00e7oit le sommaire de la partie th\u00e9matique, en lien avec la direction de la
